Found in the cannabis plant, cannabinoids are a massive group of diverse chemical compounds that interact with receptors in the brain.

What makes cannabis affect us like it does?

The sedative, calming, pain relieving effects of cannabis, to name a few of the sensations, are all responses from the plants chemical compounds- cannabinoids.

The two most common cannabinoids are THC and CBD. However, there are over a hundred known cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. When the plant's cannabinoids are consumed, the body responds with these much desired effects.

Depending on how you consume cannabis will determine how the cannabinoids affect you. For example, when smoked, the effects are almost instant. When eaten, the effects can take longer to kick-in, but can last much longer than smoking. When a cannabis topical is applied, the effects can be less psychoactive and more physical. Think of cannabinoids as the magic within the cannabis strains.
